Electric Update/Reminder

I installed a new receptacle under the pavilion.

The new receptacle, the fans and the lights are all protected by a GFCI receptacle that's installed near the timers and the RV receptacle.

If that GFCI trips, the GFCI receptacle, the new receptacle, the fans, and the lights will not work. If those don't work, check the GFCI.

If that doesn't fix it, check the circuit breaker in the panel installed on the outside of the conex.

If that doesn't fix it, aliens are to blame and there's no fixing that. But contact me anyway and I'll see what I can do.

To be clear, the RV receptacle is not controlled by that GFCI and is on its own circuit breaker in the panel.

I realize a grand total of about 5 people will read this but what the heck. HAHA If somebody wants to cut and paste this to Facebook I'm OK with that.

I'm still scrounging again: I need 15' of 12-2 Romex. 25' would be even better.

To buy 15' is about $30.00. 25' is about $40.00

How many cubic feet of electric current are you planning on moving? ;-) Any good plumbertrician can calculate an answer.

On the serious side, just go buy what you need and get the club to pay you back. Simple and you don't have to jump thru hoops to do it.

I put a new LED light in the conex.

The important part: it's now on a timer, and the timer is located on the right wall, just inside the door. I put it up high so shovels and stuff won't smack it. Plus, that literally is all the Romex I had.

Additional info:

The receptacle that the compressor is plugged into is controlled by the outside timer.

The light is 3600 lumens and was $45.00. I used the chart but the light isn't as bright as I wanted.

The next brighter one is 4760 lumens and is about $20.00 more. I told Jeff if it's not bright enough, I can hang another 3600 or I can buy the existing 3600 from the club, then I'll buy a 4760 and the club can just pay me the ~$20.00 difference.

This isn't the first time a lumens-to-florescent/incandescent chart hasn't worked out.

Problem is they rate lamps by watts, which is the amount of power it uses (voltage x amps) and not exactly how much light it emits. I've always thought it was stupid to rate lamps that way.

Using lumens is smarter if you ask me. If they'd just standardize the stupid charts and I/we get used to knowing how many lumens does what.

Non-electric:

Man it was hot out there. I cleared that one mess by the fence then went and tackled that one down by the river.

That thing had potential to really hurt someone. That one branch was captured and had serious tension on it. I knew it had a lot but gotta admit the amount surprised me. I cut it and it went flying about 10 feet. Luckily I read it right. If I had cut from the other side I'd probably be in the hospital. I had hoped that releasing the tension and the subsequent rotation would finish tearing it from the main trunk. It worked.

2 stacks of good firewood there. Maybe we can get someone under 65yo to go get it. I won't be able to do any work for about a month, so if no one else does I'll grab it when I can.

Got to Zars at 0700, drove out the gate at 1300. And just realized I forgot to sign out...again! HAHA
