Monthly Club Membership Meetings

Monthly Club Membership Meetings are held January through November on the second Tuesday of the month starting at 7 p.m. The location is listed in "The Dirt News" section to the left. The December meeting will be on Saturday, December 11, at Zars Ranch. The meeting usually starts at 11:00 and go until 2:00 pm. 2020 membership renewal will be discounted 10% at the meeting.

Monthly Meeting minutes can be found on the club's forum.

New Memberships/Membership Renewals

The first (and preferred) option for new/renewing member sign up is to attend a Monthly Club Membership Meeting. After signing up, new members should arrange to meet with a current club member at Zars Ranch to recieve an orientation. Orientation takes approximately 30 minutes and will acquaint the new member with the layout of Zars Ranch, the significance of trail markings, and the club rules.

The second option for new/renewing member sign up is to pre-arrange to meet with a club officer at Zars Ranch for sign up. New members will recieve an orientation at that time. Carl Tindle is usually riding on Saturdays and an officer is usually riding on Sundays.

The third option for new/renewing members is to email Carl Tindle. Carl works on the NE side of San Antonio near IH35 and Loop 410.

Membership Types/Fees/Workday Information

There are two types of memberships (MS). Single (MS) fee is $220. Family (MS) (up to 4 family member riders in any combination of dad, mom, and children under 18) fee is $275. The club now accepts credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express) in addition to cash and checks for membership dues.

The Work Hours Policy was changed in 2016. New members will not be asked to pay their $200 work hour money up front. All members will be required to work 16 work hours. If a member does not work all 16 work hours for the year, when they sign up for the next year they will have to pay for their membership plus $200 for the work hours that they did not complete the previous year. The work hours is an all or nothing (no partial credit will be given for completed work hours less than 16). This $200 is not refundable. If your schedule doesn't permit you to make any of the official work days, you can contact the land manager and arrange a way to put your hours in on your schedule. There are always projects that can be done throughout the year.

Membership is capped at 250 memberships. Memberships are good from 1 Jan to 31 Dec of the current year.

Prorating starts during October and includes signing up for the following year.

Membership prorations start at the October membership meeting and include signing up for the following year. The pro-rated fees for the current year portion would be - October signup (Single $75, Family $90) and November signup (Single $50, Family $60) and the normal signup/work/key fees would apply for the following year portion.

What do you get for your money?

You have 24/7 access to Zars Ranch. The only times access for open riding is restricted is on work days, family fun days, and race days. You will also find that our membership is a great group of folks to ride with. Zars Ranch is located at 4134 FM 1303, Floresville, TX 78114.

DBSA also occasionally leases other properties for weekend rides. If you have any more questions about joining our club, visit our contact section and send an email to our Membership Coordinator. The Membership Coordinator can give you the status of our membership capacity and probably get you signed up and riding in no time.

No ATV Only Memberships!!!

There are no ATV only memberships allowed. The primary membership must be a motorcycle one. ATV riders are allowed as part of a Family motorcycle membership.

Guest Rider Policies and Fees

Guest riding is allowed and the fees are $20 for adults and $10 for youth age 15 and under. The maximum fee for a family is $40. All fees are for a per rider (family), per day basis. The guest(s) must be sponsored by a current club member, and that member must be present at any time the guest is on the property. To request a Guest Rider Sponsorship, go to the club's FaceBook page and post in the guest rider request thread and give the date/day that you wish to guest ride.

Members that sponsor guest riders volunteer their personal riding time to help the guest. Weekends are when they are normally at Zars Ranch and weekdays are negotiable with some of them. Please set a time to be there and the approximate riding time with the sponsor. Also if you wait until the last minute to try and get a sponsorship you may be out of luck.

Members are strictly prohibited from loaning their gate key to any person. If a member is found to be in violation of these guidelines, the board will be asked to review the issue. Depending on the severity of the action and the board's findings, the member may be banned from the club. All decisions of the board are final.
